I know what you're thinking, "This book isn't about sprites or midgets so why is it here?" Well, the fact is that the A-series engine began life in the Austin A30, and the bugeye shares a number of parts with the A35. I bought the book to see what those differences might be and to see what insights I might glean. What I found was an enjoyable small little repair manual designed to introduce the novice to do it yourself repair. It still offers some useful tips to those who are just getting their feet wet but it wont tell you how to tackle a gearbox rebuild. Being concise and well written, it offers a window into how our spridgets evolved. The lubrication chart made me thankful that we have as few lubrication points as our cars do. I especially recommend reading chapters 2, 7, 10, 11, 12, and 13. I expect that the copyright has been abandoned, so I am offering a PDF of it here until someone requests it removed from this site.
